Default Grill delete

Not sure if this is even in the right section but f it...

I drive a 2003 Mustang GT Hardtop.

Can I take off my stock grill with out damaging anything, and will it look good n' factory? Also will the "running horse" still remain in the center of the grill, like the "cobra" does on Cobra's? I know people sell an actual grill delete kit, but do I really need it? For example, I saw that the 4 pins that hold the grill in place would need to be snapped/cut off (from the looks of things) and that would interfere with the holding down of the radiator cover. At least I think so. Thats why I need some help/feedback from you guys. I'm sure this has already been discussed countless times but you know how it goes. Thanks

I havn't done it personally, but im pretty sure it's ok to take off the grill. I also have thought about the grill delete kit and have looked at the stock one to see if i could get out of buying a new one. Its just a few screws to take off and it should go back on just the same. With the push pins your talking about, you can just pop those off with a screw driver and they should be alright to use again. If they do break you can always go to NAPA or Auto Zone and they should have them. The horse ect. on the stock grill is all connected from what i can see, and if you took off the grill you would just have a big hole showing you radiator. You would have to buy a grill delete kit. I have herd though of people painting the silver ring around the pony black, but im not sure what it looks like

Here`s what the 3 piece looks like. Yes, you can take off the stock grille without damaging anything but it will look like $hit.

Alright thanks guys, I just didnt want to go pulling pins out and not know what the results would be, you know? And I always thought the "delete kit" would just be like a special wrench or something lol and they just did it to rip you off, but now I see that it REALLY DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE (thanks sprostang) because that looks really good with the kit. Never though tof the bottom underneath the grill eather... but anyway thanks again. [sm=closed.gif]
