POLISHING MY RIMS!!!!!!
I have Cobra R's 17 in. They are the polished alum.. i just bought the car 2 weeks ago and the kid that had it befor me did not take care of the rims at all and they didnt shine at all.. i bought some mothers alum polish and it works great.. but it takes for ever i spent 2 hrs on one wheel to get it to almost look like it is supposed to... so of course i had to do it to all of them.. Does any one know of something that will do the job just not as hard of scrubing and maybe just a half hour a wheel... or will i have to spend 2 hrs a piece? Thanks
Wash them with soap and water and then dry them. After that then buy some mothers "Incredible Billet metal polish," follow the directions and your wheels will look like NEW!. I used it on my wheels and they looked awesome. Mine werent that dirty though but its meant to clean wheels that are tarnished.
I know how you feel about polished aluminum. There is a kit and a tool that snap on makes, you can ask any snap on dealer about it. It's only 90 dollars or so. And it's basically an air powered rotor tool that comes with polishing pads in the kit. It's sort of small to get in those corners and it works great. Ask for a 'wheel polishing kit'. Polishing your wheels isn't a once a year deal, your probably going to need to do it monthly to keep them looking good, so this would be a good investment. Unless your planning on selling them to get chrome. Hope I could help a little.
