what is the best product to use to clean an engine?

Any engine degreaser will be fine. After its all cleaned/degreased, use CD-2 engine detailer to shine it up. You`ll be impresssed with the outcome.

I can't speak for the detailing part, regarding dressings and such; however, Simple Green works incredibly well for me. It doesn't even need to be full strength - you can dilute it several times over, and it is still very effective. Works well for me, and it is easy to find...

I use mean green (Probably the same as simple green, just different brand) and a toothbrush in a few places. I rinsed and used some oldddd son of a gun I had lying around to shine the rubber and plastics. Piece o cake
