Default mold on seats

Hello, I have a 66 coupe. Many times the car will sit for a month without being used and when I go to use it the seats have a lot of mold on them. The car is garaged and covered at all times. Last year a local detail shop sold me some solution to spray on it to clean it up, and it seems to do a good job, but the mold comes back..........any suggestions???? Thank you[:@]

One thing you might try to help prevent mold is to use moisture absorbing products available at grocery and hardware stores... like DampRid, Dri-Z-Air (I use Dri-Z-Air in my mountain cabin). You might need 2 or more of these. Google "moisture absorber" or "dehumidifier" and similar terms.

If you haven't already, you might also be sure you leave the windows open a little to promote a little air circulation.

I had the same problem with a 69 camaro I have. I took the car cleaned the interior well . I then purchased aborbent paks from one of the Mustang parts suppliers. I have not had the mold return but I still have a faint musty odor. I am sure what Jim said will probabley be pretty much the samething . Good luck

Would an openbox of regular baking soda take the smell away? works in the refrigerator...

Dont know she really needs to get out and on the road (she needs a new clutch first) But I guess would not hurt to set a box inside.

Spray Nine. Cleans the mess, gets rid of the smell, and should kill the mold so the problem doesn't return. Just don't spray it on your glass (if you don't wipe it off before it dries you end up with waterspots that are really hard to get rid of.)

Spray Nine is pretty much the go-to cleaner in my house. I use it on everything, and it always does a very consistent and impressive job.
