Oh my!!!!!!
I just got a PC 7424 for Christmas and dayum am I loving it! I tried it out on my black Durango first with some Meguiar's cleaner wax followed with some yellow carnuba. WOW! Next up is the stang. What would anyone recommend for removing some light oxidation and some spider webbing from a single stage red paint?
The Porter Cable is awesome! You will be able to take your paint to a whole new level. I would recommend the Optimum Polish that I carry for light oxidization and spiderwebbing. It works great with a PC and has no dusting like other polishes. Optimum is my go to polishes.
What pads did you get to go with it?

Optimum polishes are great however consider the Meguiars line of polishes for single stage paints.
The oils in the Megs are said to help "feed" the paint.
I believe you can accomplish the same results with any of the products. You might get more use out of the Optimum polishes on all of your vehicles. You would not have to do a wipe down of IPA and water prior to the application of a polymer type sealant such as Zaino or the like.

I just checked my Megs stash.
For SS I have Megs #80 (Speed Glaze) and #9 (Swirl Remover) and #26 (wax). When I was gearing up to do a SS VW these were the products I selected after doing some research and asking questions. I am sure there are other great products in the Megs line as well as other product lines. I just happened to select these and they are available locally from "Car Quest" maybe other national chains like AutoZone etc. They also carry these at auto paint and body suppy shops so look for something in your area.
I did not get to detail the SS VW yet. I did practice on my GT (garden tractor) and it turned out great.[sm=happybounce.gif]
Here is my GT before.

Here is my GT after one pass with Megs #80. using an orange Propel pad on my Porter Cable at a speed of 5 to 6.
You can see some maring left behind however that comes out with a less aggresive pad.
What looks like buffer trails on the right side is really the plastic covering the ceiling in the shop.

Did you mean wipe down of IPA, or put down a few IPA's while working on it.
Sorry, the only IPA is India Pale Ale.

I've pretty much used only Meguiar's products in the past, but it's always been by hand (love the Gold Class paste wax.) I was looking at either the Speed Glaze or the #20 Polymer Sealant.

By IPA I meant a wipe down ofisopropyl alcohol and water, about 50/50.
That will help remove the oils from any polishing products and promote a bond between the polymer sealant and the surface.
Best of luck.
So far the results have been pretty good. I just did part of the hood (bad spider webbingand) androof (oxidation) and what a difference! I started with the Meguiar's #2Fine Cut, followed up with the #9 swirl remover and the scratches and oxidation are all but gone! I can literally count the ones left on one hand, it's crazy what a good job this thing did. Next I plan on hitting with the #3 machine glaze and follow with the #21 synthetic sealant. We'll see how it goes.
I think for my other cars, and for the stang once I get the surface under control, that Optimum polish looks pretty good.

I'm already loving it. I'm looking forward to doing the wife's Jeep next. It's real easy to get used to and it just does a great job with coverage. Hopefully I'll be able to get the stang done this weekend and get some pics up.
