cowl cover looks like crap
I just got my stang and since this is the first car that i really cared about taking care of externally i'm trying to keep it in perfect condition.... The paint is flawless, but the beauty of it is disrupted by this ugly faded and slightly cracked cowl cover between the back of the hood and the windshield. I don't mind the cracks so much since they're relatively small but i would like some advice on painting it if it's possible and worth it. i'm scared a regular flat black will make it look different than it is suppose to (since when new it has kind of a gloss to it) but any advice is welcome. if i need to get a new one, give some ideas on where i can get one..
Oh. and one little thing. when i bought the car, it came with these wierd water spots that are on the front and rear windshield that wont come off with anykind of washing/cleaning. any advice on that is welcome as well

Don't know about the water spots. However, a good way to shine up and return the cowl to it's original gloss is to take the Eagle One Tire cleaner, put a little on a rag and wipe it down. Shines right up and takes out the oxidation.
there acid rain drops there etched in the glass...I go threw this all the time where it get bad I just crack my windshied...you might be able to used some abrasive glass polish...as for the cowl...hit the junk yard for a like new one and have it painted gloss black with clear coat
sorry for the delayed reply, the only thing nice about hurricane jeanne was that it was really pretty in the eye when it went over my house... anyway, thanks for the help
I don't know if you have the Limited Edition 35th anniversary that came out in '99, I bought mine used so i didn't get all the special stuff that the dealership gives you ( i think the original buyers ot the LE 35th got like a certificate or something) but anyway there are regular 35th's and LE 35th's... if you have a LE then there should be a black vinyl hood sticker and the honey comb insert between the tail lights (yeah i know its retarded that thet put black effects on a black car) but anyway, if you want more information got to www.mustang35th.com the moderater there has a list of of the production numbers according do VIN number (ford never actually labled the cars with the serial number) If i can be of any more help lemmie know
dude, sorry i can't help you. but i got a question for you, how do you find out the number of your car? i've got a 35th anniv. edition also. thanks
