Default Cleaning a Car Cover

Hey guys,
I've got a Wolf Car cover, one of those ones thats water resistant, ding resistant, uv protection, and all that good stuff. Its like a $300 cover and i'm trying to figure out a safe way to wash it. someone told me you can't run them thru the wash machine. i can't find directions to safely wash it. let me know what you guys think.

thanks, Nick

Washing machines are pretty dangerous - and NEVER put it in the dryer. Is it dirty both inside and out? If so put it on the car inside out and wash it with some mild detergent and a wash mit like you were washing the car. Rinse it off GOOD, then put it onright side out and do the same to the outside fabric. When done, leave it on the car for a day in the sun so it can dry out good. Obviously you will need to do this in the AM on a good sunny day and have other transportation available

If you don't rinse the underside off real good then be prepared to have to wax or at least detail spray your car.

I'd contact the manufacturer and get their directions.

A home top load washer can be very hard on a car cover, in part due to its bulk.

If it's washable at all, I've had good luck the large front load washers at a laundry mat, and dry on low heat (inspect regularly and re-arrange as necessary).

NO TO THE DRYER!!!! Trust me. The fabric will melt and then you're hosed [:@] Even on NO HEAT setting like mine, it still got a tad warm and apparently the friction didn't help things. Air drying is the best thing. If it is machine washable per the instructions then you will need to go to a laundro mat as mentioned for the size of the washer.
