Default making my own Mach 1 spoiler

So I was interested in making my own matte black spoiler. I got a spoiler for cheap of ebay and was wondering if anyone had any links to a process. Seeing as it's matte black i won't have to deal with clearcoating it and whatnot, but is there a matte coat I should be putting on to help it last? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

They make Matte clear coats, youll want to use that. Everything you paint should always have clear coat on it.

Yeah if you dont put a clear coat on it the sun and the weather will eat it all up...

Its a protectant, and it will make it less likely to scratch through.

are you talking all exterior paint or EVERYTHING you paint?

I agree (most)with exterior pieces, but interior things should be left clear free.

I think everything should have clear coat, there is no reason not to put it on. Interior peices could go without it, but they still get alot of sun and even more physical contact, so they should get it.

Get over it. Paint the thing in semi-flat black, don't worry about clear coats and crap, don't get any wax on it, and enjoy. In 5-8 years you'll have to do it again. Big deal.
