Default targa top - good idea??

ok - i'm seriously thinking of getting a targa top installed - there's a place in pennsylvania that does it. I kmow all the problems with the leakage over time, but that's just like with a convertible. I think it looks pretty hot, I don't see many around in my area of Baltimore. I think it would look hot on my 2003 sonic blue stang.
here's a pic -

I think it would be pretty sweet. Might be a pain in the *** to install/maintain, but oh well, its worth it right?

I think it would be cool, but you first
Can you talk with anyone that has had it done by that shop to see how it's holding up?
I think I would do something under the car to stiffen it all up before any cutting.

Oh ya..NICE CAR

yeah it is a nice color...

about stiffening, i assume you lose some stifness of the body when the roof is cut out, so thats what he is refereing to -

and actually, it says on jms's website that you MUST have subframe connectors before installing their targa product - makes sense i think. im not sure if they offer the connectors for sale as well, but they do warn about it.

I would put in some subframe connectors before I did anything.
This will make your car more like it has a full frame. Right now your car has no frame under the middle of the car. It's just the floor and roof holding your car up and together. The best kind of subframe connectors go from front to back and have a web that connects both sides of the car, something like the one here.
