What do you guys use to dry your car? I have been using microfiber towels and i think they are doing more harm than good! And they become soaked way to fast!

 

i use a chamoi how ever that is spelled but i am going to buy some waffle weaves from juztang when i get another order around

 

I've recently gotten hooked on the Meguiar's Microfiber Waffle Weave Water Magnet (say that fast 3 times!). Works better than a chamois or Absorber, with no scratching...

 

I've been using The Absorber. I'm considering purchasing a leaf blower and using that instead.

Should a plain microfiber towel be working just fine for me?

 

After you wash the car, and if you have good beading action of the water droplets, remove the nozzle from the hose and let the water run over the car. You will see the sheeting action take place. This removes a good amount of water.

I prefer waffle weave towels. They are larger than the typical mirofiber and more abosorbent. They typically have silk binding on the edges.
They are anywhere from $10 up each.

i have wondered about using a leaf blower because i live in NC and during the fall in my big yard with all these damn trees it takes an industrial power back pack leaf blower to get the job done. but is using a leaf blower safe?

 

I've got a broad assortment I've collected over recent years.

My newer favorites are the Mothers foam core waffle weave that I use along with two wheel & jamb waffle weaves... I picked them up at Autozone. I consider these very good towels.

I also got a couple of very nice blue waffle weave microfibers from detailersparadise.com... a larger one and two smaller one, which I use much like the Mothers. These are also very good towels.

I've got some S.M. Arnold gold towels in the large and small sizes and they're not bad.

I've got a big Zwipes waffle weave (which has a very unique weave to it) but I find it to be too big to use with ease.

And last -- and certainly least -- I've also got a Water Magnet... I think it's the worst, roughest-to-the-touch waffle weave out there.

Chamois introduce spiderwebbing like nobody's business, and they strip-away wax.

Absorbers... some people really like 'em... I don't get it.

Water blades... same thing.

If you can't find a good waffle weave, get a nice large plush drying towel, or use several plush detailing towels and you'll be good.

 

I just gave my neighbor my old chamois and water magnet. Microfiber and a leaf blower only for me!

 

lol i was being serious would it be ok to use a leaf blower?
