i heard you can move the spoiler back on a 99-04 mustang by taking out the 3 screws and drilling new holes further back on the trunk lid. is this a worthwhile free mod, or is it a waste of time?

 

Most people with a 99 or 00, like myself, move the spoiler back. It helps clean up the lines for the back. I personaly didnt like the A$$ sticking out by itself so I moved the wing and I like the way it looks. Try it, you can always move it back and never know, becasue the wing covers any holes drilled.

 

It's definitely worth it. Much better look.

 

How far back are we talking? Like over lapping the 90* angle of the trunk?

btw, will a 03 cobra spoiler fit on my 02 gt, or do i need a new deck lid?

 

Probably need a new decklid unless you can take out or cover up the brake light on the GT lid.

yea, post some pics of your stang. does moving the spoiler back create a noticeable amount of downforce or is it just for looks? my car only spins tires in the rain or on light gravel when accelerating. i can drill into the car, but i don't want to if i don't have to.
