Another Testimonial For Obsessive Detail
Just thought I'd throw out another kudos to Justin and his Obsessive Detail business. Per his recomendation I bought the Porter Cable kit with the Optimum productsback around the holidays. I FINALLY got to use it today on my brothers black Trail Blazer as a my first subject. This thing is about 5-6 years old and has probably never been polished, let alone waxed. It was scratched and swirled to hell. I didn't clay bar because I didn't have one, plus its not my car and it was a cold & lazy day.
I applied the Optimum Compound first with the orange cutting pad, which really cut in and removed most (if not all) of the swirls. Some of the more major scratches are still there, but it did a good job blending them in with the finish. Then I applied the Optimum Polish with the white polishing pad which really brought that black back to a shine
And finally I used the black finishing pad with some Mothers Liquid Gold wax. Needless to say I was quite impressed, and my brother was VERY impressed.
All in all these products worked exactly like Justin said. The compound and polish was very easy to work with and was dust free. Just don't pull the orbital off the paint and keep it spinning or you'll get a face full of flying liquid polish [8D] And what impressed me the most was how easy the compound & polish wiped off of those hard to avoid trim pieces. For a novice it took me about 3 hours - not too shabby.
If you have any doubts about Justin or his products, well let them rest. Two thumbs up here
Sorry - no pics of the work, besides its just a damn Trail Blazer

Oh trust me, I love the PC already. I'm already looking forward to next weekend when I can apply this magic to my '85 GT vert. It is in need, but not nearly as scratched & swirled as my brothers Trail Blazer was - so I should be even more impressed then
Congrats on a job well done, and on black for your first time out. [8D]
Now that you have the PC, get the small brush attachment(s) for it. I have the "Aqua" (colored) brush and use it with the PC to scrub spots out of carpet and cloth seats. (Works pretty good in the shower with cleaning tile too - lol)

Thanks for the tip stickman - but my stangs are leather, and if I ever have a stain that serious in my carpets then I'll cleaning up worse - BLOOD [8D]
