Default Wax problem

I got some wax on the rubber/plasticmoulding that lines around each window. It's just your standard Turtle Wax. It has dried and won't rub off. I have tried using soap w/ water and some auto safe goo gone, but after a lot of rubbing and scratching it still won't come completely off. Has anyone run into this before and if so, what was your solution? I can't be the only one this stupid can i?

i'll try to post pictures so show what i mean tomorrow....can anyone help?

Get a bottle of 'back to black' by Mother's, that should cure your problem........

I myself tried Back-To-Black on my Mustang, but it didn't seem to give a nice clean look/shine that lasted more than a week. However, on my dad's old Chevy truck, the Back-To-Black worked great.

Here's what I found that works REALLY good for getting it clean and shiny for weeks:

I dunno what it is about this stuff, but it works REALLY well on the Ford plastic trim. Oddly enough, it doesn't shine as well on Chevy/GMC plastic trim, though...Maybe Ford's suppliers use a different plastic mix?

Don't get me wrong, the Mother's stuff is good stuff, but the Meguiar's stuff seems to work better at keepingthe trim black longeron the Stang.

The above stuff works great but this should be in the detail section! Not being a dick just stating a fact!

It's the type of wax your using. I get wax on the molding above and below the door and with a little rubbing it comes right off. No special expensive wax here. just regular paste wax. I use Turtle Wax Platinum paste.

Hi, They have this stuff called Wax Blaster that works preaty good. You'll find it in auto stores that sell auto paint supplies. It seems to get most off (depends on how long it was on) and then use the Back to Black stuff.

Try a little kerosene (fuel oil), it works great and is very cheap. It also works great for tar as well. I've been using it for years and never had any issues or problems. It won't hurt the paint either!

I just use a old, soft bristle toothbrush. Does a great job of removing wax from both the pebbly surface of trim but also the body and trim seams.

I'm a kerosene user too. On my old muscle car, it works great to clean up the engine bay and its never hurt the paint. Some people have asked what I use and when I tell them, "kerosene", they are shocked. I think WD-40 is actually similar to kerosene, but kerosene works better and is a lot cheaper.
