Default engine detailing

Any safe way to clean an engine? (degrease, wash, etc.). I do not want wiring toget damaged or parts to rust. Thanks all!

Hose it off? It makes me crenge just thinking about spraying water under the hood with all that electrinic crap in there. Is it safe for me to do that?

well I wouldn't want to pressure wash the internals of your alternator or anything, I do try to avoid the electricals as much as possible. the main thing is not sprayin water on a hot engine, you want it to be cooled down so you don't crack anything

i use that same engine brite stuff, i think a company named gunk makes it. it is in a white can with an orage lid, and i think the foam is a pinkinsh color. it smells like it has a kerosene base. i have used it quite a few times, and it hasnt done anything bad to my motor, just follow the directions. and for cleaning between the gunk stuff, just use armorall cleaning wipes. they work great for small messes.
