Default New Car Scent

MyMustang still has her original, authentic new car scent, but I know the aroma's days are numbered. Has anyone had any luck with new car scent airfresheners? I have bought numerous ones, but none stack up to what the real fragrance smells like. Sometimes putting in new rubber products or plastic products makes the car smell new again, but obviously you don't want to replace your mats with new ones every 2 weeks just to retain the smell!

Iuse CarNu, comes in a small aerosol, and I shoot it on the carpet/mats. Non staining, and it does preserve the New Car smell. Got it @ AutoZone, but any auto store has it, costs 3 bux or so.

Does it smell like new car scent or just like cleaning chemicals?

Keep your car CLEAN, don't smoke or eat in it, and keep the windows up as much as possible. I know a car in my neighborhood that is a 1985 with only 14k miles and it still has that new car smell

My Saleen is 2 plus years old and keeping it clean with the windows up most of the time - it still smells like the day I drove it out of the showroom

I clean mine nearly once per day, just cause its so new. I don't smoke or eat in it, but, I always have the windows down when I'm out with it.

Can't stand using the AC! ;-)

just keep cleaning it regularly, and definitely don't eat in it...and I have yet to find an air freshener that actually smells like new car
