Default Best product for just one application

Please - opinions on the best product to use if I just want to apply one coat (about every 3 months) after a wash. I do not have a garage and travel a lot so car sits in Florida sun (or rain) daily. It is a silver vert.

I am looking for something I can apply one coat - for example, I know Zaino is very good but I don't have time to do the whole process. I need to be able to do the wash and product in about 1 hour. I have been using the Klasse All-in-One product once every 4 months for about the past year but am looking for other opinions (or if what I am using is acceptable)

Thanks for any help.

Prior to trying Menzerna I was using TS Clearcoat. Its a polish/wax all in one and did a great job on several cars. I would have to buy it direct from them since no stores ever carried it. I still use it on my headlights, windshields, and sunroofs.

I think alot would depend on the condition of your paint. What year is your car and color? Are there any swirls or marring. It kinda sounds like you want a cleaner wax. I would atleast polish it and then seal it with Justin's (obsessivedetail.com) Hypershine. It should give you good durability. It would be two steps but it would be worth it. It will take you about another hour to do another step.

If you want something that will clean your paint, remove light swirls, bring out more shine and reflection, plus add a layer of sealant the Optimum Poli Seal is the way to go. It also leaves the paint feeling really slick. Poorboys Polish w/Sealant is another option.

A good 2 step would be my Light Polish followed by my Hyper Shine sealant. The Hyper Shine is also very durable.

It is a 2006 Satin Silver Convertible. I bought it new and have owned it for 9 months so the paint is in very good condition. I have used Klasse all-in-one on it twice since this is what I used on my other cars. I think it is OK but I don't think it beads very well. I am looking for something that protects very well from the sun and rain (Florida - no garage) that I only need to apply one coat every 3 months or so. I usually wash with Mr. Clean system about every 2-3 weeks. Hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend some products?

Juztang - Will the Poorboy's Polish w/sealant do this? Or would I need a wax? Thanks for your help.

If you are looking for more durability I would go with my Hyper Shine. It is a pure sealant. If you did use the sealant it would be best to use a polish to prep the paint for the sealant. The Poorboys Polish w/Sealant works well but the durability isn't as good as a pure sealant.

Thanks Juztang.

Is the Poorboys Polish with sealant a 1 step product?

What would you recommend as a polish fro prep if I used the Hyper Shine? Does it REQUIRE a polish to prep? My paint is in very good condition. Could I prep with a claybar - then use the Hyper Shine?

Please read my other post about Klasse to see my situation as far as limitied washing/detailing times due to the water restrictions in S. Fla. Thanks again.

if you have a garage, you could do most of your work in there.

in Michigan we have a real winter, the season with snow.
I did all my work in the garage, from washing to polishing.

and since you have time restrictions, maybe you should think about a Porter cable.

just some ideas, havnt read your previous post about your situtation though.

No garage - live in Fla. where it gets really hot now and the sun doesn't start to set until about 6:30. So I have about a 1.5 hour window 2 days a week - we can wash cars 5-8pm. No shady places nearby - live in a townhouse. Thanks.

Yep the Poorboys is a one step product. You could use that and then top with the Hyper Shine or you could use my Obsessive Detail Light Polish and top with the Hyper Shine. Both methods will work fine. Yes it is best to prep the surface to get the most out of the Hyper Shine or any sealant. A claybar just removes contaminants from the paint leaving the paint smooth, it won't clean the paint and prep the surface like a polish will.

Since you have water restrictions you should check out my Optimum No Rinse. Many members that have the same issue use this product and love it. You only need 2 gallons of water in a bucket with 2 ounces of No Rinse. You do one section at a time and wipe off with a microfiber, this way you don't havea ton of water around the car. The No Rinse lifts the dirt so that it doesn't scratch the paint, it also leaves the paint feeling slick. I use the No Rinse probably 98% of the time in my detailing business. It is truely a great product.
