Default dirty exhaust

I did a search for this, but never found anything related so here goes.

My CHROME tail pipes have black stuff stuck to them. Trying to scrub them does no good. How does everyone clean this black smoot off without harming the chrome?
TIA

Simple Green and a green srubbing pad or I've used stainless steel cleaner from an appliance store and a soft scrubbing pad.

yeah, just about any metal polish should work. just for ease of mind you could go with actual chrome cleaner, but any good metal polish should do the trick

Thumbs up on the chrome cleaner. Rub it on with some elbow grease, then buff it liberally until it shines
