Tire Shine
my boss at work (discount tire) gave me a huge gallon of the meguiar's tire shine that has to be diluted in order to use (diluted with water)..i use that and it works awesome, but its only available to major companies, its not really over the shelf....but when i was buying stuff on the shelf i used meguiar's hot shine (the spray kind in a bottle), not the arisol can - if you do want an arisol can spray - because it's easy the nxt spay works awesome, while all other arisol's suck ballz and run off
Make sure you get your tires really clean before you apply any tire dressing. I use an all purpose cleaner and a brush to clean tires, this gets them completely clean for the dressing. I mainly use Poorboys Bold N Bright. It dries to the touch and isn't greasy at all. Another good thing about it is that it is water based, a lot of tire dressings are oil based and can cause the tires to turn brown and actually dry them out. Bold N Bright can also be diluted 1:1 for fenderwells and engine bays.
Eagle one makes a really good tire cleaner that is reasonablly priced. Use that first then then wash and use the tire shine of your choice after it's dry. I use armor all extreme tire gel. It's basically as good as the more expensive tire shines but at a very reasonable price. And if properly applied attracts very little dirt and won't sling off.
Also, you can put tire dressing on with a paint brush instead of that foam pad they tell you to. Just pour it in a metal paint can. Some dressings will eat through a plastic cup. But that way, you're not paying for dressing that's just soaking into a sponge in your garage.
i use the regular armor all in the white spray bottle.. when you spray it on it is gonna look white and all.. but let it sit for about 30 minutes and let it soak in and it will shine REALLY good and last for a while.. even after it wears off your tires will still have the black look instead of looking dull
