I'm not exactly sure how to describe the color that I'm wanting, but the best way I think I can put it is to say that it's the purple version of midnight blue--ala midnight purple..?

I know it'll get bashed to hell and back (that I want to paint my '94 GT this color), but I don't care. The goal with this color is that it looks almost black in any light except direct light. I've seen this color used on old hotrods but can't really put my thumb on any exact paint color that I'm wanting.

Does anyone have a clue what I'm looking for? Keep in mind that I want DARK, DARK metallic purple, not Elton-John-Fairy-Purple. :\

Oh god.. I think the color I want is Midnight Purple II, like that of a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34..

Am I going to hell for wanting a Nissan paint color for my Mustang?.. :<

You should go to an automotive paint store or a bodyshop. And just ask to see their chip books, they willl have the color you are looking for in the book. And they could probably even make you a gallon of it right there. That color looks really expensive because of all the pearls, and it might even be a tri-stage paint job.

Really, I don't need the "color-changing" effects that the Nissan paint gives, I really just want the deep metallic purple. My mom's 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 has the PERFECT hue of purple, but I've never been able to find anything that matches it.. Maybe I should just take the bike to a shop and say "Here--I want THIS."

Call up kawi and get the paint code or just match it with the chip book. Another option is to take the bike in like u said and they have a camera ($10,000+ i believe) that will take a picture of it and they can get a paint code from just that picture.

Mystic was an option, but I don't think it's what I'm going for. I'm kind of doing a themed paintjob for my favorite college sports team (Kansas State University).. Yeah, I'm a loser, I know.

 

Take a close look at Harley Davidson's "Black Cherry". Easily obtainable.

 

Hey i found some really nice purple mustangs. Don't know if this is what your looking for but i hope it helps. IMO opinion if you like purple you should get this color.\
Edit: I know it has a green mix purple hue, but it looks sick
