Default Exhaust

When I bought my 5.0 it had brand new exhaust on it. However it was oem and whoever put it on put the pipes on crooked and all in all it looks like crap. I want to put on some Flowmaster American Thunder 40 series on it but I was 3 inch chrome tips somewhat like the current GTs. The flow master kit looks like it has basic stainless steel 2 1/4. Is there any other kits I can get so I dont have to buy two seprate ones to get the look I want?

in my opinon the crome tips dont look as good as the alluminum tips do. but i agree 3 inch would be nice. i wouldnt worry though just get the flowmaster set up, you will be too tied up in the sound and you wont care that your tip is 1/2 inch smaller than you like.

Magnaflow has the highest quality components I have ever seen and will blow right by flowmaster in the performance area. But, if you want to be obnoxiously loud and don't care about performance, then flowmaster is the way to go.

Magnaflow still outdoes the 2 chamber flows? I know that magnaflow is alsmost striaght through, but I like the American Thunder flowmaster sound. You can get it in a 2.5 inch tip i think, but 3 inch i havnt heard of unless you weld some on. before my new system I had some 40 series that sounded awesome, great rumble and supurb at about 2300 rpms, I welded some 3" chrome on and they were long enough that you couldn't even tell.

hehe I agree with you to some extent, and I personally LOVE the flowmaster sound... but you can't deny the fact that magnaflow outperforms flowmaster by a ton
