Waxing mishap... HELP!!
I am not a huge car guy, and never owned a vehicle that i wanted to maintain looking showroom. I have a 2006 Satin Silver Stang GT. Before one of the cruises here i washed and hand waxed my car(first time waxing a car). Turned out looking great but a few days later i noticed on the outside black window lining and windsheild lining i must have got some wax on that. Because now it has this faint white wax residue that seems to not want to come off. Does anyone know how to get that off and remain off???

I use Poorboys Trim Restorer on stained trim and it works excellent, plus it also adds a layer of protection. Another old school trick is to use peanut butter on the trim, this will also fix the stained areas.
If you are wanting some high quality waxes that don't stain the trim and have no residue check out my products... www.obsessivedetail.com

peanut butter eh? thats out there, im not saying it doesnt work. But I never imagined id be putting peanut butter on a car.
Next time you wax, just lay some masking tape on the trim or just be more careful. I know it can be hard when you are trying to rush.

Masking tape is the trick to avoid this for sure
A trick I learned years ago is WD40. Spray some on a tooth brush (or a rag and using your finger tip)and lightly scrub the trim and the residue will disappear
Just take your time and be careful so you don't get any on the paint - you'll have to re-wax, and then mess up your trim again, and then mess up your wax again, and then.......[8D]
Oh yeah, this will take your trim back to an unprotected, semi dull finish so use some of justins Silk Shine to give it some protection and luster.

A friend of mine had the same issue, only on a peice of vinyl trim. He had tried everything, and was still unable to get the paste wax residue off him trim. I applied some Leather and Vinyl Treatment on a terry towel, andapplied it to his trim, and within seconds the residue was gone.
