Attn Polish / Finish Experts
I have a 95 GT with only 56K miles - Excellent condition except paint. Rio Red color. Has been waxed yearly or more since new. Last 2 or three years paint is really getting bad. Red wants to get this whiteish haze on it after a very short time.
Guys I have been taking care of cars a long time. I have went thru more than one extensive polishing process using really good quality products going thru the proper Steps. (as many as 5) It will help for a while but the haze and fog will come back. White haze is real bad on front and rear bumper. Cannot polish them any more - plastic color coming thru. I believe I am ready for a new paint job. Is there anything else that would remove the white haze and buy me a little more time before I comitt to the paint. Thanks.

The Last couple of years I have used a buffer on ocassion. I have probably used a buffer a total of3 to 4 times in the last 5 years. Each case I used a progressive step system finishing with a final glaze. Helps for a while. Plastic parts are worst. Nothing any more seems to remove the haze. Rear bumper cover has not had buffer used on it and it does have more paint left on it but nothing I have tries seems to work.
Buffer is a standard Wen 7 inch. I am sure that there is very little if any clearcoat left on Horizontal surfaces. Sides of car should be OK. But after a time still get haze. It actually looks like Haze is under all the wax and or clearcoat. Particulary evident on the rear bumper cover. It seems that the only way to address this issue is with very aggresive means. Any yes I have damaged the paint in a couple a areas by being a little two aggressive. But the car is 12 years old and while being taken care of well it sits in a southern facing car port so it has gotten more than its share of sun. And Red is a color which does present fadeing issues after a time.
I think I am beating a dead horse. I'll bet if any of you guys who responded examined the car, I have a feeling your response would be yep, needs a paint job. Thanks to all.

i thninking your best bet is to go and buy a porter cable buffer that will not do amy damage to your paint unless you hold it in one spot for longer than 5 minutes start with a mild polish/swirl remover and wor around the whole car with that and then to to a light polish then glaze and wax
i detailed a 98 cobra that was so oxidated i was useing an orange pad for the porter cable and the pad was white by the time i finished with the light polish
