new to the clay bar
I have a 2001 mustang BLACK and has around 36k on it. The paint is overall in really nice shape and everyone comments on it but since i clean it i know its not what it could be. I have been reading a bit about claybar'n the car and what i want to know is their a certain way i should do it and can i hurt the cars finish? I do everything by hand right now. Thanks for the help guys
The claybar won't hurt your paint at all.You want to spray plenty of lubricant on the paint and let the claybar glide over the surface, there is no need to apply any pressure at all. It is best to do 2x2 sections at a time. Move the claybar over the surface until you don't feel it grab or feel any rough areas. Very easy and your paint will be silky smooth when you are done. I actually have my claybar kit on sale right now. This has my Fast Shine as a clay lube and a 4 oz. elastic claybar.
For your black paint, my Light Polish,Wet Glaze, and Wet Wax combo is very popular. Let me know if you have any product questions. Check out my customer rides section to see what my products look like on black!

Here's a video that Mother's put out on how to use the Clay Bar;

It's freaking simple. Wash the car first and then start the claying process. Just spray some good quality clay lube/detailer on the surface, roughly 2'x2' section, and spray some on your clay. Make sure to keep the clay and surfaced lubed really well! Wipe the area you just did down with a clean, dry microfiber towel and move on to the next.
