Default Mildewed goo in the trunk?

Does anyone know of a way to clean the body seem sealer around the trunk hinges? Mine is starting to look really nasty and a PITA to clean, and it never gets "clean". For those of you who don't know, I'm talking about that stuff around the trunk seal where the 1/4 panels match up to the unibody ,right around the hinge mounts.

It looks like doo-doo and irritates the hell out of me.

I usually just use my waterless wash and a microfiber to clean them. There are a couple of areas that are hard to reach and a Q-Tip will great for those areas.

I don't know why ford does that. They bolt the trunk down and then just layer that crap on top of the hinges and down in the area. It's so ugly. I tried everything to clean mine and never got it looking "good". I just got them to sand it down and paint it to match my car when they painted my car a few months ago. Much easier to maintain, lol.
