Waxing Questions.
I washed, clayed, and waxed my 07 GT 3 weeks ago. On Meguiars web site they you will know when it is time to wax again by runinng your fingers over your car and if your fingers drag and squeek. My GT is already showing these signs, did I maybe put the wax on to thin. All products used were meguiars brand and hand applied. One other question. I bought a microfiber sponge to remove the wax with, and after my car and waxing my wife's car it is all gumed up with wax is there a way to clean it and reuse or should I pitch it.

3 weeks? Seems like your wax should have a little more durability than that. But, meguiars is a pretty reputable company. I think alot would have to be with where you live, if its a garage kept, and how often you wash. Does the water still bead on your car when you put the hose to it? I'm not sure about the microfiber sponge. I would think you'd have alot of product build-up on that sponge after only doing part of the car. You should think about buy some microfiber towels. They're pretty easy to care for and they will last you a long time. Just wash them in the washing machine and dry them on medium heat with NO fabric softener. You could do the same with your sponge.
If you used wax your protection is probably about gone. 3 weeks does seem a little short though. If you are wanting something that is gonna last longer a sealant is the way to go. A good sealant that I highly recommend is Optimum Opti Seal. This has amazing durability and leaves a great finish, a little pricey though. Another option is my Hyper Shine Sealant, this is very popular on these forums. This will add good protection and leave the paint very glossy looking. If you want to add the carnauba look you can top with my Wet Wax. Check out the thread "Obsessive Detail System Applied" to see what the finish product looks like.
For taking off product I use nothing but microfiber towels. These are the safest to use on your paint. I go through a couple hundred a week in my detailing business.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thats a good rule of thumb. I wax mineso much. Like every 2-3 weeks.Lately I've been using alot of Opti-Seal. This stuff is pretty awesome. I dont think you could ask for anything easier to apply. And its got some great durability.
Thanks for the info Juztang. What is your advice on caring for a new car's paint finish. My 07 GT I bought new and now only has 3,000 miles on it, but it is a daily driver and is not garaged. I have a fear of using polish on such a new car, it was my understanding that polishing is just adding brilliance not protecting the paint. Is this a step needed for new cars also.Let me know what you think and what products of yours would work best for me. One last question what sets your products apart from the major brand names?

Since its already been clayed. I'd polish it with Optimum Polish or Obsessive Detail Light polish. Top that with a glaze. Top that with a sealant or a good durable wax OR some Optimum Opti-Seal. His products perform well. Would you rather go to McDonalds or would you rather go Outback?Just a little analogy. You will be satisfied with his products. =)
Jmose- It won't hurt at all to polish a new car. I do a lot of new car prep and I've polished quite a few when they were brand new right off the showroom floor. My Light Polish works excellent and you can apply by hand or by machine. Like Heath said, Optimum Polish will work great too. The polish will clean your paint, remove light swirls and scratches plus prep your paint for the next steps. Next I would apply my Wet Glaze to really make your paint look deep and wet looking plus this adds a ton of slickness. Now for great durability you could use a sealant like Opti Seal or my Hyper Shine. If you want a nuba look you can top that with my Wet Wax or Poorboys Nattys blue. You don't have to use both a sealant and wax, it is just personal preference. It will just give you more durability.
My products are very easy to use. They go on easy and come off easy with no residue. About all of my products can be used in the direct sunlight and they come off like they were in the shade. They are afew steps above what you can get over the counter. I used Megiuars and Zaino for years. I started using some of the boutique brands and was blown away by the results. One day I was placing another order and I was asked if I was interested in becoming a distributor since they didn't have one for my area. So I used most of these products before I started even carrying them. I personally use and test everything before I even sell it, I won't sell a product that I don't believe or wouldn't personally use. Also since I use these products in my detailing busienss I'm very familiar with how all of the products work and what best combo will work for different colored cars.

Juztang, I have an Alloy metallic mustang (dark grey). I went to your website but I don't know where to start. Let me know what would be best to start with given my car's color and age. I do have plenty of microfiber towels. Once I've heard from you I'll go to your web site see what your suggestion adds up to dollar wise. Thanks for your patience and info.

Ok, I would start out with the Obsessive Detail Light Polish. Next I would apply the OD Wet Glaze. Lastly you can eithe top with Optimum Opti Seal Sealant or my Hyper Shine Sealant. All of my product line is currently on sale right now too.
