White Guage Plate
Grab a white gauge piece for cheap.. and I hear this is one of the hardest things to install :X
It didn't come with a tool to remove the needles.. anyone have an idea on a "makeshift" piece that I can use to make this a little easier? I saw the how to on a site that someone posted in anohter thread for freemods.. but that kit had a tool.. Want to be prepared before I started taking crap off..
Any thoughts?

DO NOT REMOVE THOSE NEEDLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a major pain in the *** to get em lined back up right........... all you need to do is loosen the stock gauge insert, then slowly work it off with all the needles pointing straight up ie at 12 oclock. NOW you willl need to bump the needles out just a bit, and a kitchen fork willl do nicely for this. IF you do not move em out just a bit, they tend to stick on the aftermarket faceplates, but do not remove them. I made that mistake before someone told me the trick......

yea, the hole is way to small to fit over the needle. ive got another trick that works, cause ive done it. to get all your needles to line up get once youve installed the guages just turn on the car and let it warm up. put the temp, oil, and volt needles straight up, unless yours arent oonce the car warms up. anyway with those a millameter here or there ist a catastrophy. for the gas guages just get a full tank and then put the needle so it says full. the tach is simple enough too. if you know how do the diagnostic thing with your odometer use it (push and hold tripometer button while startign car and dont release until odo says "test") push the button to change options. theres one i believe "tach" followed by numbers, its a digital readout of your tach. hold the rpms at a steady number, like 2000, and place the needle. ENG is your speed in mph (theres one for km/h too) drive in your neighborhood and keep it at an easy number, like 20, place your needle. after you do this check your tach and speedo a few times with the digital readout (drive and hold it at 45 and see if the tach and speedo read the same as your digital reading) same thing i did and mine are perfect.
Shaggy.. that was an AWESOME tip.. worked great.. didn't actually get the white gauges in.. they wouldn't illuminate ... so Had to put the stock back on.. guess you get what you pay for :X
Huh..all that work. All I did was slide the white face over the needles. I had to work the center hole over each needle from the left to right, but got it and and sitting down perfectly without removing a needle.
