DriWash Solutions Review!
Hello Everyone!
I was the lucky winner of the contest for a DriWash prize pack, which I received about a week ago. I apologize for not getting this posted sooner, but the weather has been nasty here, and it is once again raining.
The products included are:
Ultra-Ion (i understand this to be the original dri-wash product)
Pump Bottle Ultra-Ion
All Weather Tire Treatment
OxyGone Paint Restorer
Premium Metal Polish
Leather & Vinyl Treatment
Upholstery Fabric & Carpet Treatment
Oil Treatment
It also came with applicator towels, and spray tops for the fabric cleaner, the leather treatment, and the tire and trim treatment.
I wont lie, I was skeptical when I got the kit. I took a shot at the contest because I was bored at work, and I was interested in some free stuff.I was excited to have won something, but I didnt know what to expect of this product.
First, I was surprised at the amount of stuff included with the kit. Its pretty much like a full vehicle detail, in a box, plus oil treatment.
I had hoped to use the waterless car wash onmy car when it had been washed a few days earlier, but it keeps raining, so I washed it and let it sit outside for a few days in the rain. I filled the pump bottle, which works very well, and followed the instructions, doing small areas at a time. It did an excellent job of removing the light dirt on the car, as well as some of the heavier stuff around the wheels. I expected it to be similar to a product like Meguiars "quick detail", but when I was done, I felt that the car had more of a shine to it than when I use the quick detail solutions. Once I had finished the whole car, it definately looked good, and I feel that it has a better look to it than when I use a standard quick detailer.
I then took the OxyGone Paint restorer, and went over the entire vehicle. I had some small scuffs around the door handles from my wife having her purse in hand when opening the door, and the OxyGone made them virtually impossible to see, and after a few applications in the more severe areas, they were gone. I was very happy with this, as it gave the car that "freshly waxed" look.
Next, onto the tires.They were veru dirty from the weather, and the tire and trim treatment cleaned and shined them nicely. This product did exactly what you would expect from a tire cleaner, and although it mentions "trim", I dont have any trim on the outside of the vehicle that wasnt taken care of by the wax, so I used it to clean a few small areas in the back of the vehicle, especially around where my kids kick, leaving marks and dirt, when they get in and out. It removed the dirt and the marks, although the marks took some elbow grease (not included
). It left the plastic trim with a smooth finish, much like the tires.
With the tires clean, I moved onto the metal polish. My wheels had some brake dust caked in the corners, and fine gaps, and the polish removed that, but I think that the product is more geared towards glossy rims, such as chrome or polished aluminum, which I dont have. However, a friend of mine let me try the polish on the his chrome wheels, and indeed it did shine up the chrome very well.
So, the outside was nice and shined up, so I moved to the interior. I have cloth interior, so I wasnt able to use the leather and vinyl cleaner on any leather, but I did use it on the dashboard (which the bottle mentions as being one of its uses) and it left the dash with a nice gloss. Id like to find someone with dirty leather seats to see how it works, but I have not thus far.
I did, however, make good use of the fabric cleaner. I had some spots on the carpet around the pedals, so I used the cleaner and a brush to scrub the carpet, and it left almost no trace of the marks, and they were old marks. I also had an area where one of the kids spilled soda on the rear seat, and the fabric remover took care of that, again just using a soft brush and wiping away with a towel.
The only product that I did not use at all, yet, is the oil treatment, because I just had my oil changed, with additives...but at my next oil change, I will go with this additive.
Overall, I give this product an big thumbs up, as it delivers exactly what it claims, and its all pretty simple to use. Things such as the carpet cleaner and paint restorer do require some work, but thats the case with just about any carpet cleaner or wax.
I would definately recommend these products, and I think that this kit would be great for someone with a show car, who doesnt have access to water to clean the car up at car shows or events.

Ive used driwash products as well, and I share Stu's opinion of the products, especially the ultra-ion. Ive used it for years now on my white car when I go to the track for national events, and the car gets dirty sitting overnight at the track..i go over the car with a duster first, but then go over the car with the driwash...
john, is the wheel cleaner ok to use on coated aluminum wheels? I would imagine that it is, but I was curious.

The metal polish on the other handis for UNCOATED metal - aluminum, stainless, brass,silver etc. This should not be used on coated wheels, as it' sreally not required.
