NEED HELP CLEANING A WHITE TOP
HI GOT A PROBLEM, MAYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP I BOUGHT BACK MY 92 LX VERT. BUT LOOKS LIKE WERE IT WAS STORED WATER GOT UNDER THE CAR COVER AND STAINED THE TOP WITH MILDEW, I TRIED TOP CLEANER BUT DID NOT WORK I GOT SPOTS ALL OVER AND SUGESTIONS WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.THANKS.
I have the same problem, I have used mutliple cleaners, and none are completely removing
the spots. I have not used straight bleachI am afraid that would be to harsh on the top stitching.
The product that seems to be working the best is a black streak remover that is
used for RV's. I have applied at least 3 applications to the entire top and the spots are faded
but not gone. I figure I will keep at it each week when I wash the car and hopefully they will
fade away. If anyone else has this problem and have solved it I would love some more input.
Thanks,
Jeff

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUGESTIONS,I WILL TRY THEM ALL. THERE IS A SHOW COMING UP AND I WANT TO TAKE THE CAR BUT WHITH THE TOP THE WAY IT IS IT RUINS THE CAR, WELL I WILL TRY CLEANING IT AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT WORKED BEST.THANKS AGAIN
Do NOT use straight bleach on the top....It WILL greatly shorten the life of the stitching.....having said that, try a high pressure wand at a car wash. It blasts the mold off pretty well. What is left over will usually bleach itself out in the sun. Give it a little time, it'll be better than buying a top.
