Default Scratches/Polishing

I have a black 07 GT that has a few light scratches and swirl marks. I read a lot about polishing them out with a PC, but I have a few questions regarding the process.

1. Will it actually remove the blemishes?
2. Do you polish the whole car or just the problem areas?
3. Will an amateur (Me) ruin the finish in the process?
4. How often do I polish the car?

I assume sealant/wax after and wash the car at the beginning of the process.

1. yes it can remove alot of the blemishes
2. i polish the whole car so it all is swirl free
3. i started as a complete amateur and i used it on my car and i have not hurt the paint on any cars you would have to hold the pad in one spot for about 5 mins before if would do anything to the paint
4. i do a full detail twice a year once in the winter and once in june or july

i would start with a clay bar then start with polishing then use a glaze and then wax/sealant

The only way you could hurt your paint with a PC is if you actually dropped it onto your car. I supposewith the rightcuttingpad and a really really agressive compound you could really marr up yourpaint but it would take a long time. The PC doesnt get the finish of your car hot enough to burn your paint. Its really safe. Its a great tool. Its capable of removing swirls. I'd do the whole car at one time too.

Glazes are for rookies! A properly polished will not need a glaze (filler) , it should be imperfection free if done right.
