Wet sanding?
Im not to familiar with this but some have told me to try it. I bought the car thinking they were only water spots on the hood, roof and trunk ( sides are perfect). Well they were not. I took it to a detailer and he said the paint had been damaged. and he could not buff it out. So my question is what does wet sanding entail, is this even true.
Depends on what damaged the paint and clear.... If its just surface you can wet sand (lightly) with 400 to 600 grit sand paper and water.... Use a circular motion never sand with your finger tipsback and forth it will leave indentions...... That will take out surface damages and then buff the clear back out to its shine..... Any local body shop can do that for you for pretty cheap if its just the hood.... Go talk to someone and have them look at it....
If it ate through the clear your going to need the hood blended and re cleared... that can get kinda expensive.. My body labor rates at my shop are 46 an hour.. But they are different in every state.... to repair the hood would take about half and hour to an hour then refinish times are about 2.2 hours....
Its hard to know exactly what it needs without any pics (close up)......
