Emblem question...

If you replace the rear ford emblem, is there a chance that you can put it on crooked even tho they have line up pin holes? Im just asking cuz my friend just bought a black one for his gt and he doesnt want to put it on crooked. Can anyone please let me kno thanx...

put a piece of masking tape so one edge is at the center of the emblem. then measure out two more pieces to the right length i.e. from the bottom of the teck lid to the center of the ford emblem and place them on the trunk. line up the emblem with the tops of the tape and presto. even as can be.

yeah but the ford emblem has prongs on it, so if you push the prongs into the wholes then it cant go on crooked right?

yes...... i have a extra trunk lid sitting around and i've taken the emblem off........ the holes are there and the progs still have enough room for the emblem to be put on a bit crooked

the prongs are only there to prevent people from putting it too high or way off to the side or something like that. i used to work in a body shop and the tape thing is how we did it to make absolutely sure.
