Default V6 Exhaust?

Sup guys, I recently purchased my 2000 v6 mustang. Hoping to give it a more aggressive exhaust sound by upgrading the exhuast. I'm interested in dual exhausts but not really sure what to go with. I'm looking into the 40 series flowmasters, which would be a better choice in performance and sound, the deltas or the original? I'm pretty sure I'll be needing an H-pipe, what brand should I look for? What else am I missing. </P>

*Also where can I find "true duals" for my stang?*</P>

Thanks in advance. <IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"></P>

GT99, watch out.......... i put dual exhaust on my V6 and you NEED to have either an h-pipe or x-pipe. the exhaust will start to backfire due to built up pressure b/c the V6 is so small. i used to have straight pipes from the cats back, but whenever i let off of the accelerator pedal, there would be a loud backfiring. so just beware of this. </P>

Thanks, I'll take your warning. I saw on the flowmaster site that h-pipes or x-pipes would be highly recommended with their mufflers. Wooohoo, now that I know what I want, gotta start saving...

Man, this system is nice. I'm thinking about buying this system:</P>

Instead of 2.5 tubing I'm going to get the 2.25, do I need anything else for installation? I'm not really sure how my exhaust connects from the headers to the mufflers anybody care to enlighten me (where will the x-pipe or h-pipe connect to this system)? Thanks</P><edited><editID>GT99</editID><editDate>37907.4511226852</editDate></edited>

GT, that system does look nice. all i can tell u about the possible location of the h or x-pipe would be right after the down pipes meet at the stock y-pipe. i had to have my h-pipe fabricated for me, so im not sure of the exact location of a manufactured one. </P>

I would just gut the convertor and put on a 2.5 from the cat back with 1 muffler....you'll save about 150 bucks, 20 pounds and will give you about the same hp

i actually have heard that the flows arent that great on a V6. u could check out getting the GT dual exhaust, some ppl dont think its that great, but its adds hp and its not too loud. i have it on my 02 V6 with the GT exhaust and it was only $115. also, search the internet for "v6 performance websites" and u will find plenty of useful exhaust information.
