using PC for first time
I got my PC kit with the pads in from justin on wednesday and i plan on playing around with it all day tomorrow. a while back i picked up some Poorboys ssr1, EX sealant, clearkote carnuba wax, and optimum poli seal. i also have a few other waxes/polishes/glazes that i have used before. but what pads should i use with the polish and stuff and at what speeds should i apply them? i just have a little bit of minor swirl in my paint, nothing too major so i think i will be fine without the ssr2.5. thanks alot.
what pads do you have?
if your swirls are minor i'd just do the 2.5 on an orange pad at 5-6 (mostly 6) and then follow that up the poli-seal on 5-6 on a white pad..the 2.5 finishes down pretty nice, but poliseal after it will take the little bit of haze out and just bring a lot more luster to the finish...glazes use on a black or blue pad around speeds 3-5
be sure to clay first!

i have the lake countrybacking plate and ccs pads that come with the PC kit he sells. the orange cutting, white polishing, and grey/black finishing pads. and i dont have the ssr2.5, i just have the ssr1 as far as polishes go. and i will def clay it first.
Start out with the white polishing pad and the SSR1, if you don't get the results you are looking for bump up to the orange light cutting pad. If those don't do the trick you would need something like the Optimum Compound.
Then I would finish off using the Optimum Poli Seal with the white polishing pad. This will give some nice depth and leave the finish feeling really slick.

oh, sorry i misread that post, it was like 1:30 am last night haha. i'd do what justin said. light polish and poliseal are more of finishing polishes but they do give pretty damn good results, especially on our cars becase mustangs tend to have a soft clear. if you cant get something out with the light polish or the poli-seal you can always do more than one pass...sometimes on hard-to-reach areas i end up making 2-3 passes
wait...i told you guys wrong. i have the opti-seal, not the poli seal. i was getting confused when you were saying put it on with the PC. haha. so should i use the ex sealant, or a 3m glaze that i have instead of the poli seal? and then top it with a carnuba and the opti-seal? thanks alot for your guys help.
Oh ok, I wouldn't even worry about using the EX-P since you got the Opti Seal, the OS looks so much better and has a lot more durability too. After you polish I would apply the carnuaba wax and then top that with the Opti Seal, that will give you a nice deep look plus some great protection.
ok...sounds good. thats what i was thinking. i just got through with the polish and i am very happy with the results. what is the best way to clean this pad?? just spray it out with some water or use some soap of some sort?
You can get some Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush to clean the pads, then just run some water over them until you get all of the residue. This can also been done with an all purpose cleaner, you can also wash them in the washing machine with normal detergent.
