First time using Optimum No Rinse
I've always hated dragging out the hose to wash my vehicles, dragging it around the car, getting the water supply pinched off by wrapping the hose around tires, dropping the nozzle and getting sprayed in the face or just lose focus and start spraying the driveway splashing dirty driveway scuzz up all over my car.
The nastiest part about using a hose is reeling it back up and getting my hands all filthy. On a few occasions I'd reel up the hose, wash my hands and start to dry the car when all along I had a small pebble or some other piece of crud under my finger nail that somehow ends up in my microfiber and scratches everything holy out of my car.
Well...being a firm NON BELIEVER in the Optimum No Rinse nonsense, I refused to try it. Just recently I started thinking about how much it's going to suck dealing with the hose again and I said awwwww screw it...I ordered a bottle from Justin @ www.obsessivedetail.com along with a few other products. I ordered on Monday (I think) and received everything on Wednesday.
I took a 5 gallon bucket and filled it with 2 gallons of steamin' hot water, marked the line with a sharpie for easy filling next time and added two capfulls of no rinse. I let my wash mit soak for a couple minutes before I did anything.
I have a few light light scratches in the finish left over from last year, towards the fall season when the weather started getting cruddy and I was cheating by essentially washing my car with quick detailer. All the scratches I put in were very light and I could most likely buff them out by hand...every scratch ran the length of the car. You're probably wondering why this is significant by now. I did this so I could wash the panels side to side to see if Optimum No Rinse truly peforms as advertised. Keep in mind the car has been in my garage since Thanksgiving, it's seen a couple short 2 mile trips down the road when they were clean enough to do so, while it wasn't FILTHY, it was dirty enough to brush your hand across it and scratch it to death.
After washing each panel with side to side motions and drying, I inspected closely and found................NO SCRATCHES! I was impressed by how streak-free the finished product was.
I was also impressed with how clean my drying microfiber cloth was. I figured there would be some dirt on the microfiber, but there wasn't any in my experience. The bucket used was was caked in dirt along the sides and at the bottom. Whatever dirt I was able to shake loose when I dunked the mit in the bucket, seemed to clump up on the side of the bucket and at the very bottom.
So, looks like I won't be dragging out the hose unless I absolutely have to. The No Rinse proved to me that it works as advertised!
I have a couple microfiber mits.
I've had a lambs wool mit and I dropped it on the ground and I spent a solid half hour trying to pull all the rocks from it and could never get it clean.

So, this is probably good for a free bottle of ONR from Justin.
Right Dan?!? lols
Thanks for the write up!!

I wish I got some free product
. I don't think Justin needs me to write up an all giggly-gaga review to entice some members to buy his products. Although.....I like your idea! Justin, you got my address. Send everything over!
I think the lines he carries speak for themselves. I've been a skeptic, mainly because I had no experience with professional grade products. [8D]
Jason, believe it or not there was one time that I was rinsing the driveway of all the soap and I felt a bunch of stinging sensations on my arm, looked down and saw I had atleast 10 red ants on me.

Yeah, the hose thing has happened to me before (I wasn't paying attention.)
I've also gone out to get firewood in the dark, had a family member load up my arms with firewood and fire ants I couldn't see. That pretty much sucked!!
