Considering a Roush body kit
Im considering buying a roush body kit, (my mustang is only a V6, imma mess with the engine but im tired of it's look.) i have a few ideas, but i need to know, if i were to get a roush body kit, would it decrease the value of the car? I decided I'd keep the old V6 kit just in case, but would the new addition make it look suspicious to a buyer or what? Thats what a few of my friends believe but they dont own mustangs. either i go with that kit or i sell this as is and start looking for a GT. or something. I have to get to class but ill probably come back and explain this a little better.
I just finished building a Stage 1 2007 Mustang. My past experience with body kits points to increasing the value actually. It may be because most people who put that kind of money into their cars also take care of them in all other respects which helps with the resale value.
if it is done right, and to the full extent then it will probably give you a little more value, but if you cut any corners in buying the kit, installing it, or painting it then it will probably decrease the value. you definatly wont get back out of it what you put into it though. f/r bumpers and sideskirts + paint and install are probably going to run you around $3k if it is done properly.
