Resilver or new glass?
Hi, I have a 66 Mustang Coupe. It has its ORIGINAL rearview mirror, but for the time being it has deterioration of the old silver of the glass. The thing is that I want to keep this mirror as is: ORIGINAL. So, what would you recommend me to do: Resilver the glass or change the glass for a new identical one. I mean, does any of these options cause my mirror to lost value? Here in Mexico is difficult to find a place that can resilver my glass, so the next option is to change only the glass for a new identical one. Will my mirror maintain its originality and value if I change only the glass?
I don't want to buy a complete repro or something like that, I want to keep the original.
Thanks all.

If you can get it apart, you can have a new mirror piece cut for you....
Depending on the condition of the car, an original mirror may not do anything to hurt the value. Basically, if you drive the car often, you should just buy a reproduction mirror and tuck away the original somewhere safe.
