Default Question?

I have a 2000 mustang and the plastic inserts on the side scoops and the hood are faded. I have back to black but i rather just paint them so i won't have to keep putting the back to black on. The car is red, I was wondering what color would look better, gloss black or flat black. Also i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the side scoops so i can paint them. Thanks for all your help.

I'd paint them gloss black. I'm not sure how they would look flat black. This is just my own opinion but if you're putting B2B on them, you're wanting to dress them so they will shine a little.

I'm not sure but they may be mounted in through the quarterpanel. If thats the case, you'd have to undo the seat belt and take out the rear interior quarter panel pieces to get to whatever is holding those pieces on. I might be wrong though.

I thought gloss black would look the best. I figured that the rear quarter planels had to be removed to get to them but i'm not sure how to remove them cuse it looks kinda like a puzzle to me. I have a repair manual and it doesn't say how to remove them and i looked on the internet and couldn't find anything. So it would be nice if someone could give me step by step details or if someone knew where i could find the steps, it would help alot. Thanks

Back when I had my 96gt I had to take those pieces out a few times. They should be similiar. You have to take the seatbelt out. You'll need a start bit for that(not sure of the size). Then the coat hanger is aphillips head screw. The peice that goes around the quarter window pops out. Its got a couple of clips that are holding it in place.Youwont be able to remove this until you have the seat belt and the hook off.Pull the back of the seat down and you'll see the push pins running along this pice where the metal frame of the back seat mounts to the back of the car. These things are a booger to get out. Look for more push pins around that and it should be able to pull it out. The front of it kinda hooks around the sheet metal along the line of the door. The rearhead rest is fairly easy to remove. Like three bolts iirc. I'm not really sure if you need to take that out or not. I think you can take that out without having to remove the bottom half of the rear seat. Hope this helps some.
