Witnessed something interesting with bleach
I was in my driveway and I noticed a neighbor spraying his truck fenders down with a white bottle. I noticed it was BLEACH......
So I got nosey and took a walk over and asked what he was doing. He had some dirt/drip stains running down the fenders. I walked back and grabbed some PoorBoys SSR1 and a microfiber and took all the spots off for him.
Then I told him to never do that again and wax the fenders.
I'm glad I went over when I did, I took a look around and I noticed there was a bottle of Soft Scrub & AJAX waiting their turn in the garage...
That's bad but I heard an even funnier one today. I was talking to someone who works in the same building about what I witnessed. He works in the glass shop next door and told me about a guy who brought in his brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser to have the windshield fixed. The guy had a bunch of bug splatters on the windshield and the painted side of his mirrors. He used a BRILLO PAD to remove all the bug splatters. He wanted to know if there was anything they could do to remove the swirls from his windshield and paint. [:@]
That amazes me! You are experienced enough to do some form of Labor to earn that money, or you have the brains to perform a job to earn the money to have a home and buy a brand new FJ Cruiser...but you are dumb enough to take a BRILLO pad to glass and paint without a lightbulb popping up in your head saying "BAD IDEA!"?
Cracks me up...

That's true.... for sure...but new cars aren't excluded either.
If you saw some of the crap that goes down, especially with sports cars coming off the delivery truck - the next time you bought a new car you cherish you would be asking to be there before the car is pulled off the truck.
I have no idea what kind of harm the bleach could do to the paint, but I can only imagine what bleach would have done to any trim if he had gotten it on there.

If I remember right from my days as an emergency medical technician, ya gotta watch what you mix bleach with. Sometimes some detergents when exposed to bleach will form a poisonous gas which can ruin your day for good
When bleach and ammonia get mixed together it creates fumes that can kill you, kenv. And yes some people are idiots...Make sure you look over every inch of a vehicle before you buy and look for signs of stupidity.

That's why I will never buy a used car. People are idiots. Those two items would cause noticable defects on paint, imagine what they put or do to their engine in the name of maintenance or just plain ignorance [&:]

I guess it is a good thing that he wasn't using an ammonia-based window cleaning solution during that process!!!
