why do people here only talks about orbital polisher from PC ?
won't DeWalt, makita and many more do?
i'm asking this because around here they don't sell PC, any thoughts or suggestions?

i dont think dewalt and makita make an orbital polisher, i think theirs are just rotartys, which can burn paint easily. the rotary polishers just spin in a circle, around the center point, whereas the random orbitals spin around that center point, but the center point rotates as well, creating less friction with the paint. you can correct more with a rotary, but you can also mess up more with one as well, if you dont use it properly. the PC's are one of the best, and safest ways to get rid of swirl marks and stuff. im pretty sure that they arent carried in many stores anywhere though, not just around you.
Another thing is price. You can buy PC's for 100-150 everyday.
Makita makes a dual mode polisher (Circular and random orbital) but its $300
A Flex will run you $280
Most circulars will run you about $200 from online retailers.
I can get a PC, Backing plate, pads, and products for roughly $200.

i understand there is a price issue. But my original question was, is there any other brands besides PC that would do the job and as safely as PC does. well that's what i was asking sort of. I live in Canada so shipping a PC from an american shop is a hassle, S&H, border or duty fees etc.
ahhh...ok....yeah. that makita polisher should give you about the same results as a PC. and i have also heard very good things about the flex polishers as well. not sure how hard it is to get those up there though. but just to be safe, stay away from the rotary polishers, and stick with the random orbitals (dual action). those are much safer and user friendly. especially if this is your first polisher. and get one with a variable speed, because polishes, waxes, and glazes all require different speeds to be applied properly. and id personally stay away from the no name brands, as they tend to be junk.
i could always order a PC from Ebay, S&H seems reasonnable. What do you think?

S&H is 19.45$ bid is 122.99$

looks good, and then dont forget to buy a backing plate and pads. alot of people have good results with the lake country backing plate and CCS pads. ideally, this is the type of kit you would want, if you can find one that ships to canada.
