it is the height of pollen season here is south Jersey and for the past two months I have been washing my car every week. I don't use soap every week, only every other week. when I don't use soap I just rinse and dry. is once a week to much?

I would never just rinse and dry. If there is any dust/dirt left on the car, you could grind it into the paint. ALWAYS use soap. I dont think any harm can be done by washing the car alot if you do it correctly.

 

yeah....you are supposed to wash your car every week anyways. i wash mine after everytime it rains here, and during the summer, thats usually at least twice a week. i have never had any problems. if you use a decent car wash soap then you shouldnt either. and just like the guys above said, never just spray it off and dry it, that is just asking for scratches and swirls.

 

rinse and dry? I would probably stop doing that and wash your car with soap when you can.

If it's just pollen why not pick up a california duster? I end up dusting the pollen off mine once or twice a day, hitting it with quick detailer when something pops up the duster doesn't get.
