Obsessive Detail Update....With Pics!!
So about 2 weeks ago I ordered the following items from obsessive detail:
1. OD Light Polish/Swirl Cutter
2. Optiseal
Firstly, obsessivedetail is a fabulous company to deal with. Items were excellently packaged and arrived very promptly.
Now for the test.....
The car is my fiance's dd. It is a 2005 mustang with almost 45k on the clock. We bought it used at 20k in 2006. It has been outside its entire life, but pretty well maintained (ie.. washed weekly, full detail etc..).
Steps and products I used:
1. Wash- using meguiars gold class car shampoo (best carwash I have ever found locally)
2. Dry- waffle weave drying cloth(so much better than a chamoise, buy one if you dont have one)
3. Clay- using clay magic clay bar (found at any auto parts store)
4. Polish/Swirl removal- the car had very light to a few moderate swirls on it. took my time with the pc and od swirl cutter and got 90% of them out. OD Swirl Cutter is by far one of the best polishes/swirl removers I have used.
5. Sealant- Optiseal....this stuff is tricky!!! You really have to use just a tiny tiny amount or it will smear everywhere. Also let it dry a few hours atleast before it sees rain or any water. Overall one you have mastered applying this stuff, it works great!! Really easy to use once you get the hang of it and its very fast to apply!! Can be applied to all parts of the car in the sun! and wont leave any nasty white residue. I applied 2 coats.
Here are the results. Not the best pics in the world because I lack photo taking skills and my camera really sucks!!! Enjoy

Awesome.
Don't let ObessiveDetail spoil you.
I've recently bought some electronics and waiting for the shipping has been absolutely agonizing. I love whenever I order from Obsessive, it's at my house before the weather breaks to use it!

I'm glad your car looks great, and it does, but from the pictures it looks like my car and all I did was use turtle wax car wash/wax. so I hope that the pictures are bad (like you said they are) because you did a lot of work and you deserve a spectacular looking car.
The picture quality isn't all that good. I guarentee you'd feel silly saying that thepit56 if you compared your finish to his in person.
Even a crappy paint job can look good with pictures, you really need to see a car that's been maintained with polishes & a PC in person to really appreciate what it does for your paint.

...here are a few of my gto pit56...maybe they are a bit better

honestly except for the fact that it's super shiny I still can't tell the difference from the pics. I'm not trying to be an ***, I am just saying it's hard to see beauty when your hundreds of miles away looking at it through a 17" screen
For years I used nothing but wax and thought my car was as good as it could get. After getting my GT, I began doing a little homework and for the first time started using the Sealer in lieu of wax.It is a little more work but the pay off is there. There is a difference in the paint gloss. I'm sold! Pallidamors is right thought with applying it VERY thin. It something you have to experience to appreciate.
