Default Interior re-paint

I have just had my 65 Mustang (Red) interior painted...two things happened, it is the wrong color (Rangoon Red) and it is too shiny. I am dealing with the paint shop that did it...don't need any advice there. Was thinking of attempting to repaint the interior myself. The advice I have received says that because the doors were chemically stipped the first time, that I would only need to scuff the new paint with scotch bright and then paint, which would not damage the grain. I would just have to be careful to not put the paint on too heavy or it will crinkle. I guess I am weighing my options, I do have some body shop experience. I guess the worst that can happen is that if I mess it up, I get it done professionally. Because of the shine, I am assuming he used a clear coat when he did it. Please only comment of the paint job....believe me I am dealing with the shop who did it.

My hope is that there are some painters out there can can confirm this information or give me your thoughts, it is not everyday that a brand new paint job has to be redone.

Thanks
