Default Getting out rain spots

I work a night shift job, and where i park the sprinklers come on at 10pm and spray my hood on my black 2k5. in the morning i wipe away what seems to be just water spots... but on further review i notice in the reflection that i actually havent gotten them... little water stain rings that dont seem to want to come out.....

Any tips on getting the water stains out? Its driving me crazy. Any preferred products?

Have you thought about a car cover? Water spots can be a real pain to get out; the calcium and minerals in water can damage the paint. You might have to go with a mild rubbing compound or polish. I had a black jetta glx with the same problem and it took the 3M polish to get rid of them.

Just take a damp cloth diper and rub it down and dry it off.

DON'T rub them especially if theirs dirt on your hood and its dried with the water spots youll scratch the clear coat. Just wash your car really good and dry them. You dont want to wipe your car when its dry and has dirt or water spots on it. And when you dry your car dont use a plain towel, or youll also get surface scratches, get some microfiber (those soft yellow towels) their made for detailing cars and no matter what they wont scratch your car. If the water spots dont come out after washing then you might have to buff them out. They'll come out for sure

Make sure the cars is clean and try a 50/50 water and vinagar solution and wipe with a micro fiber towel.

If it's really bad, try using a polishing compound or clay. DON'T SCRUB the polishing compound or you will get swirl marks. The most abrasive I would use is the Turtle Wax paste. Then wax the area to protect it.

or you could back into the spot on alternate days to get the whole car with the same look.

oh boy... EVERYBODY'S a comedian... ive never thought about a car cover... theres a monte carlo owner in our lot who covers his ride every night.. but it seems so pretentious... like "THIS is a MONTECARLO dammit!" i think its a little bit much..

im not parking near the sprinklers anymore but last night on the way home there was a broken sprinkler head on the freeway shoulder that hit me with a high-arcing fountain of water before i knew it :/ theres just no way to avoid this crap!
