Default Stripe Question

Hey, I just got my mustang (vista blue) and I wanted to put on the double white stripe, so I took it in this morning around 7:30 and its 5:30 and they still haven't done it.

Apparently they want to take a small dent out of the top before they put the stripe on.

Does anyone have an idea about how long it will take them to remove the dent and then how long it takes them to put a stripe on?

I know that it will vary based on when they get around to working on it, but if anyone has a rough guess that would be great.

I miss driving it already

Thanks

Vinyl or paint?

Paint would take more work and time then the vinyl. For Vinyl the surface needs to be VERY CLEAN so the stickers wont come off or get small bumps.

If you are having them painted on, that is ALOT more work as the area that the stripes are going on needs to be prepped by sanding lightley or even scuffing with scotch brite. Mask the car and go.

Now if they want to pop or fill the dent...

Mabey the shops buisy? did they tell you when it should be done?

Vinyl

I called twice yesterday and I'll call again today. Everytime they refuse to give a time frame.

The guy who sold me the car (nice guy, gave me the stripe for free) said he would "squeeze" it in, so it's not officially in the schedule which is why I think it is taking so long.

I want to say to him that putting the vinyls on should take X hours and its been Y hours, so if you could make sure that it is getting done that would be great.

Thanks for your help

It shouldsent take any more then 2 hours to clean, measure and make everything nice. Again if its a buisy shop 2 hours can be hard to find.

What about the dent?

If he's doing you a favor, don't get on his back about a schedule.

Thanks, I got the car back late last night. Apparently there was a lot of shuffling the car back and forth, but after talking to the salesman I was able to get it back.

I think it looks great and they did a very nice job of it.

Also, normally i wouldn't have been in a rush, but I am going out of town tonight and I didn't want the car to sit on the lot.

Thanks again
