Default Spots on side mirror covers

I was down the shore for a week and a half and resorted to a car wash just to get the salt and crap off my car. They claimed to have a spot free rinse, I never thought my car would come out looking worse than it went in. I gave it a good wash when I got home but there are these spots on my side mirror covers that I can't get off. Didn't come off after 2 car washes, I've tried dish soap and windex as well. It just looks horrible and I hoped somebody would have a suggestion on how to get the junk off.

what kind of spots are they? water spots? or like tar or some other sticky substance? and im guessing your mirror covers are painted or something, and not the normal black plastic.

No I have the normal black plastic covers. It looks more like something was splattered on them. It's not sticky or anything, I can't even feel them. Just can't get them off. I'll take a picture tomorrow so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

if it was a bug or something then i would try some bug/tar remover and a bug scrubber. but the way you are talking, it sounds like something has stained them. if that is the case, then i would try some mothers back to black.

No it's definitely not bugs. I'm sorry, I also did try Turtle Wax's Bug & Tar Remover, that failed as well. I'll have to pick up some Mother's Back To Black then. It does seem more like a stain than something stuck on them. Like I said, you can't feel it. It's a mark, or like you said, stain. Thanks ryan.
