Bodykits
Do bodykits actually make up in aerodynamics what you gain in weight from putting them on or are they usually lighter than stock fenders? I am thinking about buying one next spring but i don't know if it is really worth money that could be spent elsewhere. Any thoughts? I have a 1995 blackGT 5 litre. I already ordered a cobra rr hood which will be coming soon and was possibly looking at a kit but i decided to wait for a while, winter is hard on the funds.
Spend the money on the engine first. Fast first, looks last. </P>
*EDIT* I guess I shouldn't say that, because eventually I want a body kit for mine, but everybody has their own priorities, mine is performance first. Some may want looks first...to each his own. I have a hard time getting over the fact that not everybody wants to go fast. <IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"></P><edited><editID>USAMuscle</editID><editDate>37922.9565509259</editDate></edited>
I agree with you totally USAmuscle, power before looks, after next summer i plan to drop a new engine in it.(and of course that means new clutch, and everything that goes along)What i guess i really meant was will a body kit really affect performance that much or is a waste of money performancewise. Maybe i should just put some shorter tires on the front and drop the front 2 1/2".</P>
i would say bodykit is a waste of money performance-wise unless you will always be going fast, caz its air-drag (since there is more surface area) and weight might slow your car a lil bit at low speed. but a bodykit always good for looks. style is as important as speed.
ya, style really is as important. if it wasnt, people wouldnt buy mustangs in the first place, and you know thats true. and im not sure of the others, but im pretty sure the cobra r kit is supposed to kinda keep you planted downfirmly and i would say the same for steeda. now roush and saleen im not so sure, but they look good so it makes up for it.
