Default convertible top

Under my rear window, the top on my convertible is peeling off the bottom of the glass. Anyone ever have that problem? It looks like there was some kind of adhesive that connected the two, and I'm not sure was to use. The frustration of have this vert is so close to not even worth it between the leaks and stupid **** like this.
It's an 03 by the way

yeah, thats a typical problem with them. the fabric will separate from the glass, but there really isnt much that can be done other than replace it. id figure it would last more than 5 years though. i didnt have to replace the one on my 94 until about 3 years ago.

I've never owned a convertible, but it sure seems to me like that could be repaired with the right type of adhesive...

everyone i talked to when mine started separating gave me pretty much the same answer. you could get an adhesive to put it back together, but it would only be a temporary (couple weeks) fix until you could replace the rear section of the top.

How much did it cost you to get it replace?

i replaced it myself, and if i remember correctly, all the materials ran me about $450. but if i had to do it again, i would pay someone the extra 2-300 to have them put it on. it was one of the most PITA things i have ever had to work on. if your top isnt faded at all, then you might be able to get away with just getting the rear curtain (piece that contains glass) replaced. that will save you about half the cost.
