I want to tint all of my windows except for my windshield.. what is the best tint to get, is it better for me to get the stuff and do it? or to have a shop do it for me?

 

i think you should take it to a shop to get it done. It will look good and you will have a warranty on it.

 

alright, how much should i look at spending for a full window tint job? like what did you pay for yours

 

i did my own tint on my car now and bubbles are starting form. i already got a quote from a local tint shop that charges 240 for all the windows with 5%. on my last mustang i got 5% on the back 3 windows and 25%? on the driver and passenger windows and it cost me 180.

 

I just had mine done. It cost me $285 to have all 4 windows done and the rear window with 32%. But that was a little more expensive than most places because this tint has a lifetime coloration/bubble/everything warranty. Well worth it though.

 

where did you buy your tint from mike? was it pre-cut pieces??

 

i just got a quote and he said it was $260 for all the way around, is this the price range i am looking at to have it professionally done?

 

the cost varies depending on where you are. in florida you can get it done at a NICE shop for $100, in iowa i had it done for $175, and ive seen up to $300.

If the sop tries telling you that different tint % will affect the price, find a new shop. They pay the same for the tint no matter what % it is.

I wish i could remember what the shop used on my monte, from the outside it was black (not a dull blueish black, but black) but from the inside out it was like a tan almost. you could see out them as if there was only a 60% tint even though i had 20% all around.

I was quoted 150$ish if I take the existing tint off the front 2 windows myself. Going 50% on the fronts and 5% on the backs. Would go darker on the front, but i'd rather it look ok and be legal, rather than look amazing and be illegal

 

if i find some good quality tint, could i do the job myself?
