That is way to much for your top. You can get the top for 161.00 dollars. And have it put on for way less. It is hard to put the top on yourself. Also, alot of the tops will not honor any kind of return if you do not have a pro put it on for you. I have a number of good people in your neck of the woods if you need help. hmm, does that 161 cover the window as well? The one i found for 250 is the entire top (even the back skirt), and comes with the defroster on the back window. All the ones I found for that cheap were either just the top without the window, or with only a plastic window with no defroster.

Also, I would like to get with one of these people that you know around me that can install it. I'd like it done professionally if possible, since it costs quite a bit to begin with.

Is it 161 from you? I won't be getting it til tax time, but i'd like all the stuff to be arranged now. Over a heavy snow fall we had the entire bottom of the window seperated, and there is gorilla and monster tape holding it together for now.

I also looked at your site, and it looks like you too sell yours seperately, as well as only in one color. The one I was getting from the other site is the same color that's on it now.

We can get you the top in any color that is not a problem at all.

I can tell that you love your Mustang and only want the best for it. Yes you can buy both the top and the glass at a cheap price. But keep in mind you are going to get what you pay for. Please click this link to look at our buyers guide. It talks about why you need to buy your top in two parts. Most installers like this because they can get the fit of the top much tighter and they can view all the workmanship of the top before it goes on to any car. http://convertibletopsplus.com/-.html

What state do you like in?

Actually, the original top is one piece. I just went out and checked. The middle skirt is connected to the top of it underneath the overlap on the back. Kind of hard to explain. The one I am ordering from is a reputable place and says that it's an OEM top, made to the exact specifications of ford.

heh, i wish. Why do you think I am trying to get it done myself? I am not going to pay them 3000 for a new top, the car isn't even valued much higher than that. if I can find a shop including parts that can do it for under 500 i'll definately have another shop do it, but i'm not going to pay thousands of dollars to get it fixed if i can buy the parts for 3x less than that and do it myself, even if it is a difficult task.

I had my '97 done for about $1,000 3 years ago. I went with a professional upholstering company because they warranted the product and labor for 7 years. Do your homework, call around and get references from members in car clubs in your area. When I was looking around to replace mine, I called every upholstering company within 50 miles and received outrageous quotes too. After doing the homework, look at the options and see what it's all worth to you. I have seen work done by DIY's and am so glad a pro did mine.

hey ex0r... your top is 2 pieces. there is the main part of the top, and then the rear curtain with the window in it. the rear curtain connects from the top of the well to the last cross brace. Its pretty much a big rectangular shaped piece. Then there is the main part of the top that overlaps most of the rear curtain to form a good seal, and that connects around the top sides of the well, then on all of the cross braces, and then there is a strip on the front that holds it in as well.
