Default scratches in clear ...

whats up fellas
so i have a 93 with the vibrant red paint and clearcoat ..
now if you stand back a bit the paint looks awesome but as you get closer theres tons of swirls little scratches ..
ive tried all kinds of meguiars products by hand and with an orbital buffer but nothing seems to have much of an effect ..
did ford just use a really hard type clear coat or what ?
does ford recommend any product for the type of clear they use ?
any ideas thanks guys ..

I can't speak for your generation of car but the S197 does have very hard paint.

I recently have been moderately successful at removing them, but it takes effort.

I used a PC 7424 with an orange pad and Meguiars M105. I did 2 passes over the same area. Then I followed with a white pad and M205 (finer polish/glaze). After this treatment the degree of swirling was reduced significantly, although at certain angles in direct sunlight some are still visible. It was good enough for me, I don't have an endless amount of time. In order to do the entire car it would take at least 4 hours.
